WOMEN AND THE TERTIARY SECTOR
This
is an association composed of female entrepreneurs associated to the
Confcommercio system (about 50% of the entire association), operating in the
trade, tourism and service sectors.
The
first Groups operating on a territorial scale were created thanks to the
initiatives of local enterprisers, during the Eighties, helped on a national
scale by a secretarial structure.
In
1993 the enterprisers’ organisation was granted a formal recognition in the
Article 33 of Confcommercio’s Status, which attributed to the Group the
objective of “collaborating with the organisational effort and with the
efficient proposition of the Federation, thus highlighting female enterprisers’
particular profiles and valuing specific relationships”.
The
National Group is composed of Boards/Groups/councils or provincial Associations
organised in the territorial Organisations of Confcommercio

social organs of Women and the Tertiary Sector are:
The
office of the secretary is in the hands of the National Coordinator.
At
all levels, the Organisations carries out a constant activity dealing with
information, formation and offering support to the female enterprisers and to
all who intend to become so. The
principle points can thus be so summarised:

Giving assistance and consultation to women,
enterprises or aspiring to become so, who need to be well-informed on the
market, to understand the opportunities of becoming part of this market and/or
the development of their activities and professional aspirations;

A formation whose aim is to create and increase a
culture on enterprising in a feminine manner;

Giving information and details regarding the
policies on equal opportunities.

The female organisation is also present in the following bodies by means
of its representatives:

National Committee on equal Opportunities at Work,
founded by the L.125/91, at the Ministry of Labour;

Committee for female enterprising, ex L.215/92,
at the Ministero Attività Produttive;
-
National Coordination for Women Enterprisers, made
up of representatives by 12 national organisations in the enterprising world.

National Commission on Equality, of the Presidency
of the Cabinet.
